Congrats!

Congrats to all teams this week. Varsity & JV completed their first tournament along with 2 weekly games against Parowan and Duchesne. Freshman also played in their first two games. What a BUSY week!

This coming week we don't have any games. This is a time to get back on your feet, get into your school work, and practice hard. Practice times are the same this week, including the Training Team joining the Freshman/Sophomore team for an hour on Wednesdays. (3:15-4:15)

Those of you that need your spandex or bigger knee pads they are coming!!!

Thanks to the girls and parents that provided such a great meal on Tuesday! Delicious!

Thank you girls for all your hard work. Keep doing what you're doing and things will just keep getting better and better. :)

GAME TIME!!!!

Hi Everyone!!

First off, great job today on your sales. You really don't understand how much our team will benefit from this. So thank you.

Also thank you for putting up with us coaches being stress-cases. We really do appreciate your hard work, it makes all the behind the scenes work worth it, and we are so excited for your 1st game tomorrow!!!

Here are a few IMPORTANT things. Read carefully.
1. All players must be at the school at 3:15. Freshman be ready to play. Game times are Freshman @4. JV @5:15 and Varsity @6:30. Sorry Sophmores, we don't have a game for you.

2. What to wear... To school. Everyone must dress up in Sunday best. If you don't have a skirt or dress, try to borrow one, if not then wear dress pants and a nice blouse. (SOPHOMORES you will wear this attire all night at the games!)

3. We are wearing our White jersey and Maroon spandex. Wear your knee pads, socks and ankle braces if you have them.

4. In your hair, you may wear a pony-tail holder and bobbie-pins. NO EARRINGS are allowed.

5. Bring your own water bottle. (ours have not come in yet). Hydrate all day please!

6. Dinner will be provided. It will be in the lunch room, and you may step out to eat when you are not playing or do not have a duty. You may still bring your own snacks if you prefer.

7. For the jerseys. WASH THEM COLD & SEPARATE!!!! If you can, eventually buy Certain Dri. It's a roll on stick that you put on with your Deodorant. It will help with pits. (Especially with the maroon jerseys)This can be found at Wal-mart.

8. Some of you will have duties tomorrow. We need line judges & ball rollers. We will ALL take our turns. Tomorrow's schedule...
Freshman game: Lines: Tessa B. & Miquelle
Balls: Tanisha & Jessica B.

JV game: Lines: Hannah & Katie W.
Balls: Kyra & McCall

Varsity game: Lines: Elsha & Megan F.
Balls: Samantha P. & Fallon

(Don't worry, I will give you a quick lesson of how to do these things.)

Get a good night sleep & be excited for tomorrow! You girls are ready & I can't wait to see you on the court! GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi Girls! Great job this week. We can't express how happy we are with everyone. There has been so much progress on the court from everyone.

As for posting the teams. We are making up 5 teams. 4 of which are High School teams and will play in games. All 5 teams however will travel, and be able to get all the stuff (backpack, shirts, shoes, etc.).

Each player has a number. As soon as I post this I will be txting those of you that DIDN'T receive a number today.

Practice is only for Varsity/JV, Sophomore & Freshman teams. AFTER that. There will be a PARENT MEETING in the little theater at the front of the school @ 6-7pm. This is important!

If you have any questions you may call me (Caitlyn 801-851-0001). We can't stress how important ALL of these teams are. We need each and everyone of you. As for the Training Team, use this opportunity to build your volleyball skills and be apart of the team now so you will be ready to make a High School team next season.

Thanks again!

Times

Hi Girls!!!
Really important that you read this. We now have try-out times. You must regard the times we gave to you at the parent meeting. Because BreAnne is a first year teacher at Juab and new in the District she has to attend new teacher meetings during the day during try-out week. We don't any another option to do try-outs because this is the "official" week to do all try-outs. So having said that, try-out times will be...

4:oo-5:30pm 6:15-7:15pm & 8:00-9:30

We understand that this is inconvenient because it is not only late notice, but it is late at night. We apologize, but we do ask that you be at ALL 3 sessions.

Email us if you have any questions.

Try-Outs

Try-outs will be August 8th, 9th, & 10th FOR SURE, and if we need more time then we will continue on the 11th and 12th. Times will be posted when it gets closer.

We can't encourage you enough to stay in shape and play volleyball as much as you can. Get together and bump on the grass or play doubles. ANYTHING is better than NOTHING.

We will keep you posted with details here on the blog or by email.

Dixie Camp Complete!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience at camp! Okay well maybe we could have. Minus the ER, keys locked in the van, gross breakfasts, and A STOLEN PILLOW... LAST WEEKEND WAS GREAT!!

Now do you girls understand why we felt so strongly about getting everyone to this camp? Most had never seen anything like it. Over 40 teams, 3 divisions, and 4 locations, who wouldn't learn something from this camp.

This camp was about repetitions repetitions repetitions. Everyone got the chance to practice their skills and make good habits. We can't thank you enough for those of you that came. We know it was asking a lot. Time, money, and more were put into this. But we can't tell you how much we were impressed and pleased with both teams. This gave us a chance to actually see what you got in games and to see how we can help you individually and as a team.

We want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to our moms who helped carpool (and Miquelle). We could not have done this without you. We really, really appreciate it.

Lastly we can't express how much FUN we had at the same time. After all the hard work it was great to be with you girls outside of volleyball. Here are a few pictures that we had of you beautiful girls. If anyone has more picture they would like to have on the blog. Please email them to Juabvolley@gmail.com

Enjoy!

Team Camp @ Dixie State

We know your summer is super busy but hang on and get excited. Our Team Camp @ Dixie State is just around the corner. July 13-16th.

The camp total will be $225. You can write your checks to Juab Volleyball, or cash will be accepted. As of right now we hear the Financial Office is closed, so until we find out otherwise, we ask you to please pay your money at the practices we have provided for you. July 11th-12th we will be in the gym. (Remember we scheduled this date with you??? We'll remind you when it gets closer.)

We must have a confirmation that you are coming to Dixie by May 28th. Please send this by email at Juabvolley@gmail.com.

We can't stress enough how important this camp will be. We understand that money is tight. Do all you can to do extra jobs to get that money. This camp will be fun and help you to practice the skills you have already learned. Also Coach Meyer and her team will be there. It will be a great experience for you to watch other teams who follow the "Gold Metal Squared" Program that we do.

You know what to do if you have questions...and spread the word!!!

Skills Camp Complete!

Thanks to all of you, your parents, Deanna Meyers and Cristie Carpenter we had a very successful Skills Camp. We hope that you are not too beat up! However we also hope that you are remembering and practicing the basic skills that you were taught. Everything that was taught will be so crucial in our upcoming season.

Don't forget to get together to play volleyball, even if it's 2 on 2. Keep in shape and keep moving. Call each other often. We are friends on and off the court.

We can't thank you enough for your coach-able attitudes and willingness to learn. You girls make our jobs easy. We keep getting more and more excited for the season!!!
